about

The Vulcan Dub Squad (1999) Also known as the Spock demos, the second self-titled VDS release came after the band spent a year and half integrating new members David Croft (Keyboards/Drums) and Graham Wilson (Guitar) into the fold. The tracks are referred to as demos mainly because each was recorded either in part or completely in Graham’s or Andrew’s basements. Though, after various mishaps including losing a near perfect drum take from “September 3rd (Out of Town)”  while recording the bonus track “Two Old Friends before Kaliyuga” The Vulcan's returned to Zoloto Station to finish the recordings with “Sexy” Dennis Hrabowsky.

The result is another atmospheric, instrumental album with more emphasis on guitar wash and drone, unorthodox rhythm patterns created by two drummers and vocal samples and sound effects.
